Okay. It is very obvious with all the blog entries dated August 21st that I am once again far behind. Sorry, Again! All of the Content 2.0 entries that have been submitted are now live on this site. yes, there were a good number of entires to go over, especially in the Male Massage Therapist Directory. Unfortunately, not all listings went live. WHY? Well, I have addressed this before. There is no real reason to have a listing unless you submit some type of contact information such as a telephone number or a link to your own website. If there is no way for a potential client to contact you for your services, what is the point? I am able to see some email address sometimes with a submission, however, I will not post it as a point of contact unless it specifically put into the listing. And beleive me, you really do not want to do this, as once a SPAMBOT comes through this site and identifies your email address format, it will copy it, and sell it to every Viagra sales website out there. Just remember to go with a phone number and a link to your website. That really is the best way to get contacted by a potential client. So if you were one of the 5 listings that did not get posted, please resubmit with contact information and I will post your listing. Thanks --Sean

Now here is a massage school who has a director who is empathetic to the plight of the male massage therapist. Adam, of The School of Massage Therapy at SOLEX Medical Academy in Wheeling Illinois, tells us about a policy he enacted at the school which decreases the risk for discrimination against male therapists during clinical sessions. I believe his policy is well-rounded, and should be looked at by all other massage school directors out there as a similar policy to adopt. Now here is something different, and sounds like a good niche for a male massage therapist. Alfredo M. Salviejo of Orlando Florida just added his listing to the Male Massage Therapist Directory. Alfredo offers a type of massage I have never heard of before: Fili-Thai Massage. While Alfredo's listing tells more about this massage type, it looks interesting, and perhaps, a more accepted form of massage by a male massage therapist basically because the client is fully clothed while recieving this massage. If you are interested in becoming a Crtical Thinker in the massage therapy profession, here is a great new video I have added to the Critical Thinking page which will help teach you how to avoid the great deal of crap that finds it way into the Massage Therapy profession. Learn these concepts and it will keep you from falling for bogus CEU courses, massage practice marketing schemes and making a fool out of yourself (and practice) when explaining massage to a potential client or referring physician! You may feel Critical Thinking is not an important issue, especially in finding new client, but reality is most potential clients are strong critical thinkers and are internally analysing all statements of your claims. Most people who can afford to plop down $70 an hour to lie on your massage table did not get that $70 by believing in the Tooth Fairy to fund their massage habit.

I am a little surprised (and a little disappointed) it had to be a female contributor to make the first submission to the Critical Thinking page I put up a few weeks ago. While I do not always agree with everything this Poster states, she states the details of her submissions very well, and demonstrates some of the LEFT BRAIN qualities I was hoping that Male Massage Therapists would display, and capitalize upon in thier Content Submissions, especially this one about Critical Thinking.

Because of this, I am willing to give her a little leeway on the submissions in spite of the fact I originally intended this site to be a male-only submission and comment website. In this Submission, she tells us about a newly found technique she observed being promoted in chiropractic healthcare. She also provides some interesting links about the technique and founder. Read it all, then critically think your way through the new technique. Is this a technique you would have reason to believe works? Likewise, are the claims to this technique really verifiable? If you got involved with this technique (as a practioner or client), would you feel it is ethical to take someone elses money in exchange for provding this service-Why or Why not?
