There was recently a Content 2.0 submission made under the Horror Stories section. The submission started out fairly informative, but quickly changed into an emotionally charged rant, which got so foul by half way through, I am not going to let such a submission go live on this site. (plenty of uses of the F word) After reading the submission several times, I could finally tell it was written from a female perspective about a story of a male massage therapist who had been using his massage skills to get a little extra compensation with the ladies on the table. Unfortunately, it appears the submitter of this Content 2.0 submission was the female client on the receiving end of this therapists inappropriate and lawless actions. Regardless, the submission was made without a name, or email address, and as I stated, I am fairly sure it was a female. As such, I request all persons wishing to make a Content 2.0 submission to read the Submission Rules before making the submission. (i.e. All submissions should be made by a MALE massage therapist) Thanks

Steve Harris of Orlando, FL adds his listing to the Male Massage Therapist Directory. Steve adds a link to his website, which I'm hoping all Male Massage Therapists reading this blog will check out. Why? Steve has an "About Me" page which I think is very important to any male massage therapist trying to promote himself using a website. After reading an "About Me" page on a site, a potential massage client needs to feel comfortable about the therapist they will ultimately choose to call for an appointment. Steve accomplishes this with his "About Me" page. Notice it represents his background and why he is a professional. While he explains he is a caring person, notice he does not go on about saving the world one dolphin at a time. I have seen a number of otherwise good "About Me" pages on massage therapist websites ruined by a way too sappy drama story about how a therapist found their calling to heal all the disefranished with their cosmic hands. If you already have a website, be sure you have included your "About Me" page. Follow Steve's example. If you do not already have a website, get one now.

While I may have liked it a bit more if Dan had included his telephone number, he provides a link to his website which contains all the information needed to get in contact with him to schedule an appointment. I've had a number of submissions recently submitted for listings into the Male Massage Therapist Directory which have contained no contact information. I've decided not to post any of these listings, as it is just a waste of bandwith if there is no contact information listed. Marketing 101: If you are going to advertise your services, give your full name. No one is going to let you put your hands on them unless they think you are legitimate. Take the position of the prospective client: what would they rather read ? "Massage by Billy" OR "Massage by William Smith, B.S., LMT" It's easy to see the later projects a more professional flavor, and at least seems a bit more "on the up and up". Next, no matter how much advertising you do, you are more likely to produce a greater rate of return at the casino playing slots than counting on an advertisement without a telephone number, or without a link to your website to bring you clients. While I don't suggest listing your email address on the internet, at least provide it if your are not going to provide a telephone number or website link. And lastly, be sure to provide a business location address. This again projects an image that you are legitimate, and not a fly-by-night tugjob operator listed under "male escorts" in the back of the yellow pages. If you are struggling as a male massage therapist and are not getting any responses to your advertisments, check that you've included all the important information. No telephone number = No calls for appointments!

Jul 23, No Need to Submit Listings of Sexual Nature

It happens every so often, and I do not really know why. On different pages through out this website, I have made it a point to disclose that this is neither a sexual website nor one to promote commercialized sexual massage services. But like I said, every so often, I get a Content 2.0 submission with a listing of a so-called Male Massage Therapist offering much more then clinical or therapeutic massage. Some of the listings submitted are rather up-front as to what you will actually get if you use those services. Some of the submissions come with photos that would give you the wrong idea about what massage therapy by a male therapist is all about. Luckily, SiteBuildit! gives me the opportunity to screen all Content 2.0 submissions before they go live. I assure you, these types of gay sex massage listings get deleted before ever even getting close to going live on the site. Still, there are a number of repeat submission attempts. So let me just warn you: Do not waste your time. Those types of listings are not going to get published. And those types of male massage therapy services are not going to get promoted on this site, so no need to keep trying.

The Massage Humor page is quickly becoming the best hit page on this website. If SiteBuildit! traffic analytics are right, this page has already received 534 hits this month. Considering it's just a page of embedded You Tube videos, it must be viewed as fairly funny judging by the response so far. Luckily for us, this page is already starting to grow even more. Our veteran Male Massage Therapist contributor from England, Paul Ledbrook, just sent me a link to a couple of other fairly funny massage videos. Those videos are now also embedded on the page. Paul had to send me the links in sort of a round-about way, so I have now added a Content 2.0 page builder where anyone can now add a page of links to other great massage humor and jokes. So if you know of an other ways to laugh at massage, let us know.
