Masseur is offensive too. Massage therapist is the only correct term to be used. I ran across this website while search for something totally unrelated, but I found it interesting, so I stopped to read.
I'd just like to point out that not all male massage therapists are gay or perverts, and not all female massage therapists are weak. I am a female who works on pro athletes, and I've been told time and time again that I give very deep massages.
Deep tissue isn't much about strength, it's about using the proper technique. It doesn't matter if you are male or female.

AMTA is good.
You can also look up insured therapists at IMAgroup.com and click on the link that says "Find a Member". On the search add your city and state or zipcode. You can find me under 77002

Soooo Sorry Masseur by: Anonymous
That was a terrible mistake on my part!!!! I know it's masseur... I've always known that difference because I prefer males(as I clearly state in my post.)
I did an internet search for the spelling and I totally spaced out!!! I feel so embarrassed and I want to apologize. Maybe I can change my post.
Thank you for the information.

Finding a Therapist by: Anonymous
Go to the American Massage Therapy Associations web site www.amtamassage.org.
Go to "Find a Massage Therapist".
You should be able to find a reputable therapist that way. Hint. Most massage therapists find it offensive to be called a masseuse. Especially since this term refers to a female.
