NO! I wouldnt trade it for anything!
by: Anonymous

Anonymous,
Hello ! I just found this site last night, and I am extremely excited about it!
Ive been doing massage for about 4 yrs now, and not only have I had a great time, I love what I do, and helped many people, but I am trying to recruit as many males in this profession as I can.

So far, I have had 1, yes, 1, turn down from a woman, and 2 times by a man. To each their own. However, I teach skin care and massage at a school, and I have although there is some apprehension with learning waxing, makeup, body treatments from a male, after the first few days in my class, most fears are eliminated.

I carry myself well, Im professional, and address their fears and concerns first thing.

I believe its all in your attitude, and unfortunately your appearance. If you caring personalty comes out and shines when you speak to them, and honestly,..listen to when they talk, (believe me, that is one thing most women want) for us to really listen. Dont work on them, dont just fix what you can feel they need it, but work where they want help. You will soon overcome any issues.

I always teach my student to ask 3 things....always.
1. What is your favorite part of your last massage?
2.What is your least favorite part?
3 Show me exactly, where you hurt in your (shoulder,arm,back...)

As far as front desk asking if they want a male of female, that is something you should address with your spa owner, or better yet, give them a free massage. Then I assure you when they get calls, they will brag about you to the guest.

Best of luck, I really hope you decide to join this awesome career.

Michael

Gay Men
by: Anonymous

I just wanted to say that Im a gay male therapist and no one would know im gay if they saw me only if they knew me. I did run into these hang ups with the str8 world. So I market myself to gay men only and yes a few want sex but they ask before I make the appointment and I tell them no, Im dont do that. You can either have a great massage or go to someone else take care and have a great day.

Lets face it men r men and woman have their fair share of sexual come ons. So lets not just think its gay men its all men. So I have great gay male clients that im close with and make a good income.

Im very happy that I dont have to teach anyone about who I am and what I do and o please let me massage u. Im lucky that Im gay so I dont mind touching men and in school I did not mind touching woman but then i dont have any hang ups about who I am.

Be open-minded
by: Michael

Responding to your inquiry, I have been doing massage for over 22 years in three different regions of the US.

Pre-school research is essential to your making the decision as to pursuing a massage education. If you can tolerate potential client rejection, you may survive as a youthful, 19-yr old therapist.

The older a male therapist is in this profession the better the odds. A male's hands are generally stronger, depending on their conditioning, than a female's.

You should NOT enter the field thinking this will be a great way to meet girls because they will be on to your attitude. Immaturity will get you nowhere. The more mature a male is the better chance of survival.

my two cents.
