hello Marcos..greetings, i hope you find the success and happiness in this field that i am sure you will love as much as i do.
first thing is first, be realistic..we men do have it harder..that is not being negative, that is my personal experience having ten to twenty doors slammed in my face a day in my search for employment as a male massage therapist.
second, persistence and consistency..
You can succeed in this field but it will take focus, determination, and a genuine stubborness that will keep you plugging away even when things seem bleak.
third, do not expect your school to care if you succeed or not..chances are, you will find yourself like i did asking for answers as to why you struggle, only to have your school give you non sincere answers and not fess up to them not telling you what they should have told you in the first place when you signed up for school, that we guys do struggle.
Schools want your money, your success or lack thereof is not their concern, once you leave their four walls with your certificate/degree in hand, they move onto the next batch of students, after all they already got your money.
fourth, seek refuge in the fellowship of other massage therapists, whether male or female..it can be tough and we need to educate those around us about the benefits of massage. I try once a month to chat with another massage therapist regarding the business,marketing..etc.
And i try to get a massage trade in too while im at it.
I hope that helps, do not give up. I hope my honest answers do not sway you, but i choose to not candycoat or be dishonest to you as some have been with me, and spare you the hard start that i had.
