Overcoming the 'gender' issue

by Raul A. DeLaRosa
(Tampa, FL, USA)

Hello there,

I am a male massage therapist who had to return to a regular punchclock hourly job to pay bills due to the economical situation. I know this economy is challenging massage therapists both male and female to come up with innovative ways to stay afloat economically.

I am looking for part time work and have found it very challenging in spite of the fact that I had studied at a very prestigious massage school that taught me neuromuscular massagevery well. I asked my school to help with assistance as far as my resume and for tips on how to make it.

So far little has been done by them. How does a male LMT keep from getting bitter and discouraged when even your own school is reluctant to help you out, especially when the rest of your class who is female is working in the field and you are not?
